and Dermatologic Surgeon, Dr. Lisa Donofrio is an Associate Clinical Professor
of Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine and an Assistant Clinical
Professor of Dermatology at Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Donofrio
graduated suma cum laude from Quinnipiac College and Tulane University School
of Medicine, where she completed her residency in Dermatology and served as
Chief Resident. She continues to conduct research projects on dermatologic
therapy and surgical techniques.
Dr. Donofrio has written and lectured internationally and is the founder of
the S.A.F.E. Technique of autologous fat transfer. She is a Fellow of the
American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic
Surgery and American Society of Liposuction Surgery.
Dr. Donofrio specializes in liposuction, fat transfer and facial and photo

Most of these procedures carry with them miniscule, if any, associated complications,
and can be performed in such a short period of time that they are commonly
referred to as "lunchtime" procedures. This is just one factor contributing
to the rise in popularity of these types of procedures. According to statistics
from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), over 7 million minimally
invasive surgical procedures were performed in 2003, and with recent FDA approvals
of Sculptratm and Restylane(r) facial fillers, that number promises to increase.
