NewsProNet vows to build franchise into powerful driver of audience and revenue for local stations.
(Atlanta, GA. April 9, 2001) The strategic convergence news company, NewsProNet Interactive LLC, has acquired from CNX Media Inc. its Quicken.com branded consumer money content service produced under agreement with Intuit Inc., a leading provider of personal finance information and software.
Now cleared in 73 television markets across North America, the Quicken.com money reports provide local television stations with 5 new video segments each week along with related station-branded content for local station web sites.
NewsProNet, the leader in converged media solutions for todays broadcasters, is the producer and distributor of SweepsFeed, the highly regarded promotable special reports service now in 122 markets, Discoveries & Breakthroughs, the consumer solutions/science news service now in 64 markets and the Know Moreinteractive model for delivering convergence content and local revenue to television stations across the country.
Consumer money coverage is what the audience wants and needs right now, said Michael Shoer, President & CEO of NewsProNet. Were thrilled to be able to build on the convergence foundation laid by Allan Horlick and Kim Montour and all the folks at CNX Media with the reports offered under the Quicken.com brand.
NewsProNet is a strategic news content company committed to providing high-quality content that will attract, inform and motivate todays audience to take action. NewsProNet will be making adjustments to the Quicken.com reports to bring the same high level of production quality, creativity and local market strategy to these segments as they already bring to SweepsFeed, Discoveries & Breakthroughs and their proprietary Know More interactive content model.
Stations have never been under more pressure to do more with less while establishing an important local coverage position. NewsProNet will continue to provide content the audience values in a format that showcases local talent and local issues, and thats exactly what they will do was they evolve the existing concept.
Stations have never been under more pressure to do more with less, says Shoer. We know its crucial to provide content the audience values in a convergence format that cost-effectively strengthens local coverage.
